This is our grass fed and finished beef tallow, gently dry rendered. They are weighed at exactly 2 pounds/32 ounces and 1 pound/16 ounces.
We source our tallow from a local private cattle ranch here in southern Arizona from cows that are raised on large pasture acreage. They are completely grass fed until processed. We are proud of the way these cows are raised and personally know the ranchers & are grateful for the gift they give us not only with food but with their nourishing fat.
We render our tallow gently on lower heat and it undergoes several strains to completely remove any sediment. This is dry rendered so it will have a faint scent of beef. It is very mild due to our thorough cleaning of the fat before rendering and semi low temperatures.
We only use kidney fat.
*This does have a faint beef scent due to being minimally processed. We ask that you make a small sample with your choice oils before judging the final scent. We use this for all of our products and our customers love it, and don't notice a strong scent. If you are wanting completely odor free tallow, then this is not going to meet that expectation.
Directions for use:
There will be instructions also on care of tallow once you receive it along. We render tallow fresh every month, so it's not older than month before it reaches you.
* if this has been frozen you will receive instructions with it.
This is a seasonal item and only available when we have extra. It is limited and dependent on the number of cows being processed.

It was slightly grainy, but went on smooth when I made my whipped tallow. I'm very happy with it and it didn't have a lot of smell to it!
Hi Gabby, the graininess is due to the high stearic acid in all tallow. That can only be mitigated by heated and cooling it evenly when you are making some thing with it. If you need some help with this we cover how to fix it in our whipped tallow recipe. Message us if you are still having trouble with this.
It has a slight beefy smell due to dry rendering instead of wet., the smell does not bother me nor does it bother a few of my customers. However I had a couple customers saying they couldn't handle the smell,so for them I gave it an extra wet render and that solved their problem for them.. It is best to use it the way it comes due to the vitamins but some people are sensitive to smells. I give this This Tallow is the real deal unlike some companies that are getting over on people and just selling fat. I will forever be purchasing from this company as long as it is available. Great price!
Hi April, our tallow does have a faint scent due to being minimally processed. We do not wet render or heavily process our beef tallow to make it odorless. The scent is light and indicative of that natural nutrients still being present, and the quality of the suet. We encourage you to make a small jar with your choice oils before judging the final scent. We use the same exact tallow in all of our products and our customers are very happy with the quality.

I got my 1lb tallow in the mail today, packaged well and instructions included....I already made a tin of whipped tallow (plenty of tallow left ) and its just amazing quality. Hardly has a beefy odor and a little lemon oil took care of that. I love it...thank you. Will definitely be ordering more in the future.

It looks like quality tallow but I haven't used it as of yet. I sure it is perfect seeing how white it is tells me it has been refined a couple of times.
Hi Nina, our tallow is dry rendered, so it isnt refined :).
I have been anxious to try tallow for awhile. I ordered some balm and was very pleased. I decided to buy tallow in bulk, both to cook with it and to attempt to make my own balm. Very pleased.
I bought some balm at a farmer's market and I also ordered some tallow from another source. Both were inferior, in my opinion, to Grassland.
